Oregon Fall Chinook Season: What To Know Before Fall Chinook Season Kicks Off in Oregon

Fall Chinook season is here, and it's time to hit the coastal tributaries. The rains are on their way, which means fall chinook in the coastal tributaries will be chock-full of hard-fighting big salmon. This is a great time of the year to target coastal fall chinook.

With the recent rains and water level rising, the coastal salmon will start entering the river systems. They tend to stage in the bay and tidewater area as they wait for the rivers to rise. But once the rivers get enough rain, they will start to migrate into the fresh water of the coastal tributaries.

Rivers like the Wilson, Trask, and Nestucca will have plenty of opportunities from now until late November and even into December on some rivers.
