Prepping for the Winter Steelhead Season in Oregon

It's that time of year again when anglers across the Northwest are starting to think about the upcoming winter steelhead season.

The winter run steelhead is my favorite time of the year. Nothing gets me more excited than drifting down a small tributary river in search of hard-fighting chrome winter steelhead.

The steelhead will start migrating into the tributaries in December and will go all the way through late March. With many excellent rivers to choose from close to the Portland area, this is truly a special place to time of year for winter fishing.

There are several rivers, like the Sandy and the Clackamas River, which are less than 20 minutes from the Portland area. Also, with a little more effort, there are several fantastic rivers within a couple of hours' drive from Portland. Rivers like the Wilson, Nestucca, and Trask, to name a few.

If winter steelhead is on your mind like it is for me, then reach out for more information and to book your winter time experience now.

Thanks
